25. STRECHER AND CAMP BED


The multi Purpose NorHosp Strecher

In all types of relief and emergency operations. It is of utmost importance that the available equipment is dependable, easy to use, and - above all - flexible. With this goal in mind, The Multi Purpose NorHosp Stretcher was developed by as Apotekernes Faellesindkjoep in cooperation with technologically advanced Norwegian companies and the Norwegian Defense. This collapsible strecher is made of aluminium sections and tarpaulin material which allows X-rays to pass through it, and the hand grips are moulded from extremely strong nylon. The Multi Purpose NorHosp Strecher can be equipped with stand poles - long, short or with wheels. The poles can be put through the side arms of the strecher at whatever height desired. The strecher can be placed perfectly level even on rough ground and several strechers can be stacked on top of one another in order to accommodate maximum patients in a small area. The Multi Purpose Norhosp Strecher is the perfect solution for use in field dressing stations, at surgical hospitals and in health clinics. The strecher can be used for transportation, as a simple operating table, or as a hospital bed in a nursing unit. The strecher is standard equipment in the NorHosp surgical field hospital`s Nursing unit, and has frequently been used during operations worldwide for many years. With the handgrips pushed back into the side arms, the total length of the standard Multi Purpose NorHosp Strecher is 192 cm, and will fit in all field vehicles, e.g. the Mercedes Gelanderwagen, Land Rover etc. With the handgrips extended, the same strecher fits into existing racks that are used in cars, boats, aircrafts and helicopters. Even in small station wagon one can fit a strecher by putting the front end on the seat rest of the front seat while supporting the rear end on its support stand poles.
