Normeca A/S was established in 1983 and today is a fully owned Norwegian company. The special competence of Normeca A/S is equipment provided for anaesthesia, ICU, CCU as well as for emergency medicine, operating theatre and mobile hospitals. Normeca A/S represents a number of larger international suppliers of medical equipment as Dameca and Ambu in Denmark, Provita, Medifa, eMed and KaWe in Germany, Bird, Novametrix, Arrow and Mindray in China, to mention some of them.


- Anaesthesia, monitoring and specialised operating equipment.

By own research as well as by co-operation with a number of institutions like Norwegian Defence Research Establishments, Medical Department of the Norwegian HQ Defence Command, Medical Regiment of the Norwegian Army, Medical Regiment of the Danish Army, etc., Normeca A/S has developed a number of special products for field / mobile hospitals and equipment for military personnel. Armed forces of various countries world-wide have already purchased this equipment. Today we have customers in the Armed forces of Japan and China in the Far East, USA and Canada in the West, the Scandinavian countries in the North and the countries of Middle East / Africa in the South.


-Mobile hospital based in tents within 24hours.

With regard to the field / mobile hospitals, our company has developed the most complete package solutions within this area and at present we are able to deliver several versions of the complete field / mobile hospital and related equipment. In addition to the above mentioned manufacturers of medical equipment, Normeca A/S co-operates with 35 suppliers, 25 of which are fully owned Norwegian companies. This co-operation gives us all the possibilities to meet our customers` requirements in the best possible way.


- Decontaminating and protective clothing

Normeca A/S has its own branch offices through Joint Venture, directly and / or through an agreement of co-operation in Murmansk in Russia, Tokyo in Japan (where we have 10 employees), Abu Dhabi in the UAE, Athens in Greece and in Miami in the USA. Besides, Normeca A/S has agents and / or distributors in approximately 70 - 80 countries world-wide.

Our company’s staff in Norway has 22 employees. There are several engineers and also nursing personnel among company’s employees. Our co-operation with Medical Regiment of the Royal Norwegian Army and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishments provides us with a high level of skills of the army physicians.

Through the chain of suppliers with thousands of highly skilled employees we are guaranteed support within all areas of our business. Normeca A/S has also partners within architecture, consulting, Warmth / Ventilation / Sanitary and electricity services for the public health sector.


-Seminars, local and international, more than 5000 have
participated in our seminars the last 20 years.

After many years of practice Normeca A/S has gained wide experience in preventive maintenance of medical equipment. Since the early eighties our company has had contracts on service for approximately 60 - 65 % of the hospitals in Norway within anaesthesia and ICU, and also for a large number of dentists within analgesia. In addition to this Normeca A/S has regularly performed service and larger reconstructions for the Royal Norwegian Army, especially within anaesthesia and ICU. Normeca A/S has also been the sole supplier within anaesthesia, ICU and operation theatre during the Royal Norwegian Army’s establishment of field hospitals in Bosnia and Saudi Arabia (the first Gulf War).



Among many of our customers today there are the Armed forces or / and NGO in such countries like Japan, China, Thailand, the UAE, Greece, Portugal, England, Holland, France, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the USA, Canada, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary. During the last 20 years our company’s compact and easily mobile version of a field hospital, NorHosp - Norwegian Mobile Hospital and Disaster Unit, has been delivered and used at approximately 100 sites / conflict areas / catastrophe areas around the world. It appears from this that at present the NorHosp-solution is probably the most used field hospital in the world. During the last 10 years, more than 10 000 surgical operations have been done in our container hospital, NorBase. Our container hospitals has been used different places in Bosnia and also in Albania, Kosovo, India, Afghanistan and Iraq to mention some of the places.


- Mobile floating hospitals

During the last years Normeca A/S has also been an important supplier of decontamination equipment, protection suits and other related equipment within this area. During the period after September 11, 2001 Normeca AS delivered decontamination equipment and protection suits for USD 8.000.000,- within 8 weeks from the order. After the delivery Normeca AS trained close to 1.000 doctors, nurses, paramedics and other representatives within the following 8 weeks.

Normeca AS has arranged many seminars during the last 20 years. Both domestic and international. The company has arranged seminars in area like “Security during anaesthesia”, “Safety within monitoring and defibrillator” and Mobile hospital and related equipment. During the last 20 years the company has had approximately 5.000 doctors, nurses, engineers, officers and other people from around 50 different countries in different seminars. Around 25 seminars have been arranged outside of Norway from Japan/China in East, Malaysia/Indonesia in South, and USA in West to Murmansk in Russia in North.
